UNCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE BIGGEST OBJECT IN THE UNIVERSE

Floating like a magical trophy on God’s mantelpiece, the huge testament to a greater but long-gone race, hovered solidly in the air. From the ground, The Chun looked like a vast inverted pyramid, hundreds of times the size of even the most ambitious of mountains, suspended like a zillion-ton puppet from the skies, but without the obligatory strings. Rarely did you actually get to see the whole of The Chun. Only on very clear nights, when the moons were full and bright, reflecting the sun’s rays onto the sides of the immeasurable object, could you appreciate its true immense presence. Only then could you faintly make out the rim at the top of The Chun, rising far above the atmosphere of the planet Vacchion, and into the beginnings of space. It was solid, very solid. You didn’t need to know what it was made of to know that it was probably more solid than anything you could imagine. It reflected light like chrome, but added an element of distortion that made the reflections look slightly tormented. And there seemed to be a very small time-delay, as if the image was being processed before being beamed back out again.

The Chun, despite being seemingly inanimate, had an uncanny knack of making all observers feel very insignificant indeed. No matter how important the onlooker, no matter what standing in society, a few minutes gazing at The Chun soon brought their egos crashing back to microscopic proportions.

Even with powerful telescopes, the Vacchions could only see as far as the distant lip of the vast upturned pyramid. Before flight was possible, people speculated that the rim marked the edge of an immense, square, plateau atop The Chun. Many people believed that a supernatural world existed there, spawning many diverse religions – as do all inexplicable features of life throughout the universe.
