CASS WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW...

Cass woke up. He had seen it all again. The defenceless planetary investigators, the hideous barbarians… He wanted to believe it was all a futuristic dream, but it wasn’t. It was the most vivid premonition his family had ever had. He even knew the names and faces of the people who would visit his planet in thousands of years’ time. He knew the feelings they would go through as they discovered the millions of skeletal remains of Cass’s race scattered throughout the camouflaged city at the foot of The Chun. He knew all this, yet no-one would listen…

He rose from his comfortable bed, strolled quietly across the large room and looked out of the window to view the bustling street below. Billowing clothes were drying in the warm gentle breeze, hanging from wires stretched high across the busy street. Market traders peppered the centre of the thoroughfare, selling their wares to shoppers through polite and honest exchanges. His gaze returned to the bedroom. His wife, a beautiful, yet unassuming woman was fast asleep on their large inviting bed, covered by cool white soft sheets. Cass’s heart sank further. Everyone was going to die.
